Consultant Physician to the Conquest Hospital, Hastings, and Honorary Consultant Cardiologist to The Royal Brompton Hospital, London, and the Manor Hospital, Oxford.  Specialist in all aspects of cardiovascular medicine in particular hypertension, heart failure and Cardiology in the older patient.

Born and schooled in Birmingham UK, Oxford University and Westminster Medical Schools (BA, 1981; MBBS, 1984; MA, 1989) MD in human myocardial physiology (1994). Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians (1999) and Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (2007). 

Over 100 publications including editorial and research papers, book chapters, and scientific abstracts. 

Reviewer and editorial board member of several cardiology journals.  Lead in local, national and international research; frequent presenter to national and international conferences. Contributed to national hypertension and heart failure development programmes and guidelines.

Hospital Clinical Lead for Medicine: 1997-2002, and 2007 onwards. Executive Board Medical Director for Strategy 2002-2004.  Board lead for National Service Framework implementation and Medicines Management. Adviser on chronic disease management to the Strategic Health Authority. Hospital Director of Caradiovascular Research. 

Independent Consultant specialising in the introduction of new cardiovascular medications and services. Advisor to several major pharmaceutical companies, DoH and independent organisations on therapy and healthcare strategy.
